UNAI Side Event on RIO+20 at the Batthyány Summer School and the Summer Seminar of the Doctoral School of Law and Political Science
On 19th July, the Batthyány Summer School and the Summer Seminar of the Doctoral School of Law and Political Science of Széchenyi István University, Győr, Hungary hosted a joint United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) side event on the occurrences, and the aftermath, of RIO+20, the 2012 UN Conference on Sustainable Development.
The lecture delivered by Eszter Lukács, a member of the Presidium at the United Nations Association of Hungary (UNA-H), was attended by a number of co-professors along with approximately seventy students from a multitude of European states. The address; with special focus on the engagement, and the shared responsibility, of the Major Groups; comprised a coverage of the preceding UN conferences on sustainability, as well as an account on the new development framework, more specifically, on the establishment of the sustainable development goals.
While both the Summer School and the Summer Seminar are regular parallel events of the Deák Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences this year the two forces were joined together under the umbrella of UNAIto recall the achievements of, and gain more insight into, the most salient undertaking of the UN’s history.
